Intertaining myself

So, I am a stay at home mom and sometimes I catch myself saying things that my kids don't understand just to entertain myself. Example:

First let me give you a little insight into our family. There is a rule in our house that the kids are not allowed in the kitchen. Ever. Partly because Jon always finds some crazy thing to do and another because inevitably when they want to be in there I am cooking and it is too small for that.

SOOO anyway, there is a door between the kitchen and the living room and the kids were asking me to open it. I said "Why?" and they said "Cuz we want to dress up like ghosts and go through the kitchen. I said "Are you allowed in the kitchen? EVER?" the kids "No" I said "What religion are you from anyway? The Klu Klux Clan?! 'If I put a towel over my head THEN it will be OK" I swear half my dialog is for my own entertainment! My kids have no idea what that means!
